چکیده

Triple C' is a new visual interactive system which supports the exploration of multicriteria decisions. The novelty of this system consists in an overall utilization of Visual Interaction for supporting ail the information processing activities related to the task of incrementally defining and analyzing a multicriteria decision situation. Departing from traditional approaches in the MCDM field, the presented Decision Support System is neither an automation of the decision process nor an attempt to capture the decision-makers' preferences and goals into a formai model. Rather than providing objective 'solutions', this system aims at supporting end-users to progressively gain insights into a decision situation, providing different tools to enable them (1) to better understand the decision situation at hand by expressing and analyzing their own preference structures, testing different alternatives and comparing them interactively, (2) to support and verify their individual judgement by performing different types of sensitivity analysis, and (3) to justify their subjective choices and communicate them easily a crucial factor in group decisions.

knowCube for MCDM – Visual and Interactive Support for Multicriteria Decision Making

In this paper, we present a novel multicriteria decision support system (MCDSS), called knowCube, consisting of components for knowledge organization, generation, and navigation. Knowledge organization rests upon a database for managing qualitative and quantitative criteria, together with add-on information. Knowledge generation serves filling the database via e.g. identification, optimization,...

Integrating Case-Based Reasoning in Multi-Criteria Decision Support Systems

An important focus in current research on decision support systems (DSS) is the design of flexible environments to facilitate and support learning about the problem domain by the user. This research uses case-based reasoning to present a symbiotic DSS in which both the user and the DSS learn from each other. The user learns from the DSS (from stored prior problem solutions) and the system learn...

Designing a Generalized Multiple Criteria Decision Support System

Decision support systems are of many kinds depending on the models and techniques employed in them. Multiple criteria decision making techniques constitute an important class of DSS with unique software requirements. This paper stresses the importance of interactive MCDM methods since these facilitate learning through all stages of the decision making process. We first describe some features of...

mHealth for Clinical Decision-Making in Sub-Saharan Africa: A Scoping Review

BACKGROUND In a bid to deliver quality health services in resource-poor settings, mobile health (mHealth) is increasingly being adopted. The role of mHealth in facilitating evidence-based clinical decision-making through data collection, decision algorithms, and evidence-based guidelines, for example, is established in resource-rich settings. However, the extent to which mobile clinical decisio...

A Critical Visual Analysis of Gender Representation of ELT Materials from a Multimodal Perspective

This content analysis study, employing a multimodal perspective and critical visual analysis, set out to analyze gender representations in Top Notch series, one of the highly used ELT textbooks in Iran. For this purpose, six images were selected from these series and analyzed in terms of ‘representational’, ‘interactive’ and ‘compositional’ modes of meanings. The result indicated that there are...
